As of 4:27pm Thursday, June 11th, Governor Cuomo has lifted the “emergency care only” restriction on chiropractic in N.Y. state. After the 3 most financially and emotionally challenging months of my career, business will resume as close to normal as possible.
A few changes you will find when you come to appointments: 1) No chairs in the waiting room. To minimize the chances of patient/patient interactions, patients will wait in their cars or outside the office to be called in when the office is clear and has been sanitized. 2) Only one family member will be allowed to enter with you and they will have to remain in the treatment room during the treatment. 3) Hand sanitizer and ear-loop masks are available if needed. Please use hand sanitizer after checking in on the iPad with your pin (typically the last 4 digits of your cell phone number). 4) Masks MUST BE WORN at all times. This is for both yours and my safety and to minimize the chances of any airborne spread while inside the office. 5) Credit card numbers can be stored with encryption to minimize handling of cash and credit cards for payments and co-payments.
Please be respectful of others and adhere to the safety practices as recommended by the State of New York and the CDC. While I normally enjoy a little extra chatting after appointments, please be aware that someone is likely waiting outside to be called in for their appointment. As always, I will strive to stick to a strict appointment schedule with little or no wait times upon arrival. An occasional minute or two wait may be necessary from time to time so that the office can be cleaned and made safe for your visit. I apologize in advance for any inconvenience but safety for all must remain my first priority.
And finally, please keep in mind that if you are late for your appointment, it will impact the visits of the next several scheduled patients so please plan for the typical traffic and parking issues of summer in the Hamptons. I will always try to accommodate patients arriving a bit late but in light of the new guidelines for operating, I will not be able to guarantee treatment if you are more than a few minutes late if the schedule is fully booked.
Thanks for your patience in these difficult times. We are all trying to adapt the best we can. Stay safe everyone.
Dr. P
